I bought these for added cushioning for longer distance runs, particularly the Devil O' the Highlands. My previous shoes were Saucony Peregrines which were fine, but left me a little sore on my soles after 25+ miles. The Akashas were very comfortable from the outset and were ideal for the the training leading up to the Devil, and on the Devil itself. They appear to be wearing very well and are now my "go to" shoe for dry trails. (If the going is to be very muddy, snowy or icy, I reach for my La Sportiva Mutants). The Akashas were a half size up on my Peregrines - 9.5 compared to 9, and the support and fit are excellent.
